Ho场erg Suite:Grieg’S Inheritance and Development in Ancient Suite WANG Nan (Ningbo Institute of Education,Ningbo 315010,China) Abstract:Holberg Suite,written in 1 884 memorating the poet Holberg,is a good piano works and later adapted into orchestral suite.This work uses ancient forms of the genre’S suite as well as folk music at mature period.This paper,based on Holberg Suite which presents the inheritance and develop- ment in ancient suite,through analyzing the specific characteristics of this creative piece of works,illus— trates the form of the characteristics of the suite,hoping to have a better understanding of Grieg’S creation.
