123)РAbstract: The iodine-terminated polyvinyl acetate (PVAc-I) was prepared by degenerative transfer (DT) polymerization in the presence of elemental iodine. Block copolymerization of methyl methacrylate with polyvinyl acetate was carried out by ATRP, in which PVAc-I was as macro-initiator, with plexes: CuCl/PMDETA, CuCl/MA5-DETA and FeCl2.4H2O /PPh3 as catalyst respectively. The course of polymerisation showed typical ATRP characteristics. The results of analysis of 1H-NMR and GPC traces confirmed the synthesis of PVAc-b-PMMA and narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn = 1.4-1.8) of copolymer.РKeywords: Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), Living radical polymerization, Copolymer, degenerative transfer radical polymerization (DT), methyl methacrylate(MMA), Vinyl acetate(VAc).
