thofthehumanperson,intheequalrightsofmenandwomenandofnationslargeandsmall,andtoestablishconditionsunderwhichjusticeandrespectfortheobligationsarisingfromtreatiesandothersourcesofinternationallawcanbemaintained,andtopromotesocialprogressandbetterstandardsoflifeinlargerfreedom,ANDFORTHESEENDStopracticetoleranceandlivetogetherinpeacewithoneanotherasgoodneighbours,andtouniteourstrengthtomaintaininternationalpeaceandsecurity,andtoensure,eptanceofprinciplesandtheinstitutionofmethods,thatarmedforceshallnotbeused,moninterest,andtoemployinternationalmachineryforthepromotionoftheeconomicandsocialadvancementofallpeoples,ordingly,ourrespectiveGovernments,throughrepresentativesassembledinthecityofSanFrancisco,whohaveexhibitedtheirfullpowersfoundtobeingoodanddueform,anizationtobeknownastheUnitedNations.
